The company that is currently in escrow to buy the former Jacobs Jr. High campus has created a website with some more information; though more questions than answers remain. It states the site will likely be redeveloped into a mixture of rental and owner-occupied housing.
Eureka is holding a meeting on the former Jacobs middle school site following a surprise sale last month to a mystery developer, AMG Communities Jacobs, LLC. Councilmember Kati Moulton, who represents the neighborhood, is organizing the meeting along with the city's Development Services.
Thursday, the Eureka City Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to authorize the district to enter into escrow for part of the former George C. Jacobs Junior High School with a developer, AMG Communities Jacobs, LLC.
"I am not requesting this authorization lightly. Over the past several months, story after story has emerged about lavish gifts and luxury trips that Supreme Court justices have accepted and failed to disclose," Sen. Dick Durbin said this week about plans to subpoena Rob Arkley.
