“Where is the vaccine? I don’t know. COVID-19,” opens the chorus in Gene Jackson’s new song, “Vaccine.” The longtime St. Louis soul singer wrote the song before there was a vaccine, and the irony of him later contracting the virus is not lost on him.
“I thought it would kill me,” Jackson told
St. Louis on the Air about getting COVID-19 shortly after the album was released earlier this year. “It was three weeks of hell.”
