Its on all of our offices to come in really comprehending and asking all the questions prior to a full Board Meeting or asking for a continuance in advance. I just think, you know, in most cases i would support continuance. But in this one, we are hearing from so many residents there is a housing crisis thats going on currently. And instead of facing threatened evictions throughout our city and i know that this type of eviction is something that is impacting supervisor avaloss district. And i didnt fully comprehend the legislation until i got emails from his residents explaining actually this type of eviction that they have faced previously and if this legislation had been in effect, this would not impact them. So, tenants that had been threatened eviction so that their units could be merged with another unit to be filled out to sell off a larger unit, et cetera, et cetera, i think there are not a whole lot of things that we locally can do to support our tenants you unfortunately becau

If it i had a summer home in San Francisco, and i had a winter home in ben gazi id spend all my summers iniqrq winterna nzn home. If you listen to these speakerso coming up energy coming from them is kind oft bitching about the city, and the way its kind of violating its own charter of the sunshine ordinance. We saw many determinations in front ofcup whichsjaindicates that somethingsmhnnowhs awry. In his collective 10 year at both Daly City City Council and county board of supervisors he served on a variety of regional agencies, mtc, caltrain, bay Area Management district you name it, he probably served on it. What i got to know him well on was transportation issues. When i had the pleasure of serving at the caltran board where supervisor cohen is now, you of title. I think the title he cared most about was father, grandfather, brother cousin. His family was so absolutely important to him. I read through his obituary, and it reminds me to some extent of how i felt after i wrote and read my fathers own obituary in that its a wonderfulm but it doesnt come close to really saying who this man was. Mike gave his entire life to his brother and sister, both as family, but also when i say that i mean collectively, his entire society. Truly someone who will be missed dearly. His wife of 45 years kathleen his three children, one of whom is a member of our own Police De
I have two in memoriams today. The first the motherinlaw for our on again, off again on again deputy clerk day clerk kay diewben gay. Secondly, if we could, on behalf of the entire board of supervisors id ask if we could adjourn todays meeting in memory of former san matillo county supervisor mike nevin. Mike was a very good friend of mine, someone who i looked up to a great deal, someone who i really saw as a role model in this job. Prior to entering politics, mike was a 27 year member of the San Francisco Police Departmenth9f rising to the level of inspector. He then in his adopted home of daly city joined the Daly City City Council, served there for 10 years serving as mayor for two years. He then stepped up to the san matillo county board of supervisors and served on that board for 12 years. In his collective 10 year at both Daly City City Council and county board of supervisors he served on a variety of regional agencies, mtc, caltrain, bay Area Management district you name it, he
Process so that the two units were empty and could be merged. This would not allow you to merge the units if there had been a nofault eviction in order to have the two Units Available to merge into a larger unit. Okay. So, to make your legislation, connect the dots for me. How does this save rentals . Or affordable what are we trying to do here . According to this incentive for units to be demolished or merged and converted. One of the ways is if there has been a nofault eviction or there is a disincentive, you cant evict a tenant because youre not going to be able to actually make a conversion of the building or merge units in the building or demolish the building in the future. So, it could actually work to preserving the tenants and the rental stock in those building. Were also making sure that where a Property Owner does want to make improvements to nonconforming units, that a building where there are conforming units, that they be able to make those conversions and to actually sta
