We were surprised and saddened to hear about the recent passing of Florence resident, Euell T. White at age 87.  A Facebook post on his page only eight days before reported the hospice nurse just left because he was doing so well and he didnât need them anymore. He indicated that he was not tired at all after church and several stops just two days before that. Euell posted several more times until three days before his passing.Â
Euell and I knew each other only through this newspaper. We have been publishing Euellâs letters to the editor for decades. A couple of those ran as guest editorials, as I recall. Â
The 33rd year of this eagerly anticipated contest is underway now with entry forms in the paper and online, and many of the submitted photos on our Facebook page. Winners in the May 26 issue.
