One furious Brexiteer said: The hypocrisy of the EU is breathtaking. They were so arrogant when dealing with David Cameron and not prepared to make any concessions to the UK. They thought we would never leave. If they had only listened. Brexit is their fault.

Another EU critic said: The EU is a joke - there’s got to be consequences to Brexit. With friends like them who needs enemies? Scrap this debacle of a deal now.
And another said: Play their game. Ban it here and ban EU food imports from the 11 EU countries that still use it.

EU Director-General for Trade Sabine Weyand has put forward plans to solve ongoing trade disputes experienced under the leadership of Donald Trump with incoming US President Joe Biden. The former Vice President will be officially be sworn into the White House following his inauguration on January 20. And Brussels plans on wasting no time in forging ties with the Biden administration. It comes as Brexit Britain has made clear it is seeking deeper trade relations with the US.

The UK sealed a landmark Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) with the EU on December 24 and officially left the bloc on December 31, 2020. Less than two weeks after Britain ended its membership with the bloc, EU chiefs are set to announce a fund worth £535million (€600million) for struggling EU fishing fleets and another £3billion (€3.4billion) for other sectors, RTE news reports.

The European Commission has already secured an investment agreement with China, but the deal has yet to be passed by the European Parliament. This next stage could prove difficult for Brussels, as swathes of MEPs could refuse to ratify the agreement in protest of Beijing’s human rights abuses.
