Ms Holmyard said she will have to make crucial decisions about the future of her firm over the coming months and may be forced to pack up if a solution to the ban isn t found.
She argued that slapping on retaliatory restrictions on EU goods is not the sensible approach and urged the Government to instead thrash out an agreement with the Europeans.
The company director said it would also be in Europe s best interests to have the ban lifted, as customers on the continent have also suffered as a consequence.
A SEAFOOD exporter has warned she will be forced to pack up her business after 30 years if the EU s ban on live shellfish exports from the UK is not lifted soon.

This creates significant problems for British fishermen as the majority of UK waters are not deemed to be class A .
Mr Daubney s call for EU fishing boats to be banned from entering British waters was backed by Brexit supporters on social media.
One said: The answer is stop all fishing in British waters, and in that way if they want shellfish they are going to have to buy it from us.

Former MEP Martin Daubney backed reports that Britain could restrict imports of European mineral water and several food products under retaliatory measures due to Brussels’ refusal to end its blockade on British shellfish. Mr Daubney added the restrictions should be in place until the EU changes its mind over its ban. He wrote on Twitter: The way to make the EU see sense on their shellfish blockade is simple: block EU vessels taking shellfish from British waters until they change their minds.

With UK shellfish banned from being exported to the EU, Westminster has drawn up plans to impose tariffs on goods such as bottled water and potato seed from Europe. Although a good start in the UK’s battle with Brussels, former MEP Patrick O’Flynn urged Boris Johnson to use the emergency powers in the Northern Ireland protocol to strike back at the EU. Article 16 was almost invoked by Brussels in order to stop vaccines produced in Europe passing through to Great Britain from Northern Ireland.
