Amid sobs, they displayed placards with the inscriptions, ‘We have been demoralised, nowhere to go,’ ‘We want back our properties,’ ‘Our government has made its citizens helpless,’ ‘We want our land back,’ ‘We are low-income people made homeless,’ ‘Our children are crying,’ among others.

Demolition: Oke-Egan residents, Ajah, storm Lagos Assembly, demand compensation from Sanwo-Olu On By Olasunkanmi Akoni Residents of Oke-Egan Community, Kayetoro in Eleko area of Ajah, Lagos, on Friday, stormed Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa, Ikeja, in a peaceful protest over the demolition of their houses, demanding immediate compensation from the state government. The apparently, distraught residents, who chanted various protest songs, carried placards with different inscriptions. Some of the inscriptions read; “We have been demoralized, nowhere to go, we need back our properties, our government has made its citizens helpless, we want our land back and we are low-income people made homeless.”
