A nascent civil war in Ethiopia threatens crisis and instability in the strategically important East Africa region. The fighting broke out after years of escalating tensions between the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) that dominated the previous government, and the current government led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

وقال بيكيلي “يوم 12 يوليو/تموز الجاري، تم الانتهاء من الملء الثاني لسد النهضة وتدفق الماء إلى قمة السد”.
وأضاف: “مبروك للإثيوبيين وأصدقاء إثيوبيا: النتيجة كمية المياه اللازمة لتشغيل توربينين (لتوليد الكهرباء)”.
وتابع “لقد قمنا بالكثير من العمل هذا العام للوصول إلى هذه النقطة، نعمل بجد لإنتاج التوربينات القادمة، وسنكون قادرين على إكمال ذلك في الأشهر القادمة”.
