Study Design and Subjects
This study has used data from the prevalence study of selected chronic non-communicable diseases in Nepal. This is a population-based, nationwide cross-sectional survey conducted from 2016 to 2018 in all seven provinces of Nepal. Data were collected through a multistage cluster sampling with a mix of probability proportionate to size (PPS) and systematic random sampling. The detailed methodology has been presented elsewhere.
18 Males and females aged ⩾20 years and residents in the study area for at least the last 6 months were eligible for participation in the study. One participant out of the eligible candidates in each selected household was selected to take part in the survey using the Kish method.
