Last Sunday, a CBS special on Woody Allen, featuring a previously unaired July 2020 interview with the 85-year-old filmmaker, began streaming on the company’s Paramount+ service with an introduction noting that one doesn’t need to believe or “even like” Allen to hear him out. The same day on regular CBS programming, a report on problematic artists featured a feminist art critic who chided the network for giving Allen “legitimacy.”
