Today the pennsylvania Governors Office announced the launch of the papal 511 website, which will offer real time traffic conditions on highways in the philadelphia region and details on how to reach the papal venues, along with routes for bypassing the area. Just click on the nbc 10 news app for a link to the website. And you actually dont have to wait 12 days to see pope francis in center city. You can see him now simply by looking up. The first of more than 550 banners showing a smiling francis went up today near the cathedral basilica. Over the next ten days, workers will install three different kinds of banners throughout the city and there will be plenty of eyeballs to see them. This is where hundreds have been evacuated. They are along the sidewalks and standing along walnut street around the 300 block from the 12 to 1400 block of walnut street. Hundreds are out here as you heard from jesse there have been at least two Apartment Buildings evacuated and the last few minutes, though, good news for people in the Walnut Square apartments, thats at the corner of walnut and 13th. Walnut square apartments were reopened. So everyone really flooded back inside trying to get back inside. They were evacuated in their pajamas or whatever they went to bed in. From what we can see is a number of fire trucks, a large presence of firefighters here. Still working to get the fire under control. In just two days, its burned more than 61,000 acres and consumed 400 homes. 1,000 buildings could be gone before its over. 19,000 people have been forced out. 1,200 firefighters are moving in. And Danielle Nottingham begins our coverage. Reporter there was nothing they could do but run for their lives when fire raced through middleton, residents captured these images as they were forced to drive through the flames. Good evening tonight from los angeles, and we begin with the breaking headline. The state of emergency here in parts of california tonight. The national guard, thousands of firefighters battling 12 wildfires. And one of those fires has turned deadly. Hundreds of homes gone tonight. We have dramatic images from inside the inferno. The valley fire in nap pa. One family fleeing to the left, to the right, everything on fire there. Haunting images of the aftermath. The charred american flag. Where the town once stood, that sign now reading, this is where we belong, still standing. Meanwhile, an urgent race. Cars, flames behind them as families try to get out.
