Casualty has announced two new characters will be joining the show ahead of its 35th anniversary later this year.
The BBC has confirmed that on top of one or two old faces returning to the ward for some special episodes,
Guilt actor Osi Okerafor and former
EastEnders star Elinor Lawless are coming aboard.
Okerafor has been cast as Matthew, a locum registrar with experience practicing in some of the world s hotspots. Matthew also has a long romantic history with Fenisha (Olivia D Lima).

The seeds are sown when Iain brings Alzheimer’s patient Bobby Stair into the ED after she has a fall. Bobby is closely followed by adoring husband Ken, who’s eager for them to return home and celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary over a candlelit dinner, something they do every year.

Double episodes of Casualty see Lev confront his demons and the shock return of Ciaran Coulson AKA Mr Mean
Casualty treats viewers to a double bill this Saturday when the medical drama airs twice on BBC1.

Thankfully, Faith noticed her absence and saw Jade in the alleyway before the man was able to assault her, scaring him away.
Although the ED confirmed that Jade experience no physical harm, she was clearly heavily traumatised by the entire experience. She confesses to Faith that she believes she might have been targeted specifically because she is deaf. Why did he pick me? she tearfully said. Did he see me take my hearing aids out and thought I was an easy target? People treat me like I m less than them, not as smart, not as important. I cannot change who I am.
