WATERBORO – Richard “Rick” Brandt, 73, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 17, 2021, at Maine Medical Center after a period of declining health.
He was born on Oct. 20, 1947, in Sanford to Otto C. and Audrey (Goodwin) Brandt.
Rick grew up with his many close cousins in Waterboro Center spending time on his grandfather’s farm, hunting, fishing, and playing on the very first little league team in Waterboro.
Rick graduated from Sanford High School in 1965. In September of 1966, he joined the National Guard leaving service in 1972. He pursued and completed an apprenticeship program at GTE Sylvania in Waterboro. In November of 1972, he married the love of his life, Nancy Daney, and together they raised two girls.
