The MPs were advocating for a prime minister who would be elected by the people and for Eswatini to obtain its freedom. It is understood that a caucus was held by the two MPs and others, including Masuku.
ESWATINI: TWO MPS ARRESTED!
Comments Two eSwatini Members of Parliament who have been calling for political reforms, Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, have been arrested.
PRO-DEMOCRACY activists in eSwatini say the recent arrest of two MPs will not stop people from fighting for their rights.
Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were arrested on Sunday, 25 July and appeared before Mbabane High Court on Monday, 26 July.
Their case was postponed to 29 July for bail application.
The two are facing charges of terrorism and contravention of Covid-19 regulations.
People’s United Democratic Movement (Pudemo) secretary general Wandile Dludlu said a warrant of arrest was also issued for MP Mduduzi Simelane. He said the government had been targeting the party for a long time.
