Starting from Wednesday, Ukrainian war refugees are able to apply for a residence permit in a day that should make it easier to find a job quickly. Language requirements are worrying employers, while the Estonian Language Inspectorate promise to help job seekers.
A part of people fleeing the war in Ukraine have already found work in Estonia. While hundreds of wanted ads have been posted, employers want the chance to hire refugees on the same grounds as permanent residents. That said, refugees are expected to do different things than people who have come to work in Estonia from Ukraine before.
Since Russia attacked Ukraine last Thursday, there has been a deluge of information regarding what and where people in Estonia can donate to help Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees. On Wednesday's "Reporteritund" program, Vikerraadio's Kaja Kärner spoke with representatives of major groups organizing aid regarding the current state of affairs.
