French prosecutors are investigating Nestlé after the Swiss food giant admitted to treating water for its top brands, including Perrier and Vittel, that supposedly comes straight from springs.
Nestlé Waters North America now BlueTriton Brands has been issued a Cease & Desist order by California s State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) to cease unauthorized water extractions from the San Bernardino National Forest, but says it will pursue all legal options to correct what it claims is the SWRCB s misinterpretation of established California water law.
Water rights complaints against Nestlé Waters North America began in April 2015 with an online petition urging California regulators to stop the multinational company from extracting the state s natural water resources without a valid basis of right.
