The President of the Christian Service University College (CSUC) in Kumasi, Prof. Samuel K. Afranie, has asked government to extend it’s social intervention policies for students in public universities to cover private tertiary institutions to enable them compete favourable on the job market.
He said currently, students in private tertiary institutions were at disadvantaged because not all of them benefit from government scholarships and other assistance, saying they may even be excluded from the yet-to-be implemented new student loan scheme.
While reckoning that a few of his students have benefitted from government scholarships, Prof. Afranie wants the policy to be expanded to cover all students to provide equal playing field for all.
