Many school districts were already operating on virtual learning plans or a hybrid of in-person and online classes due to the coronavirus outbreak and some have elected to continue with virtual classes when they might have otherwise given kids a snow day. The high winds and the potential for overnight freezing on power lines, however, could cause power outages that would make online classes a challenge. Gusts could hit as much as 60 mph along the coast.
