East Alton man facing arson charge

EDWARDSVILLE An East Alton man has been charged with a Class X felony after allegedly setting fire to his apartment building.
Nicholas F. Gonzalez, 30, was charged Feb. 4 with aggravated arson, a Class X felony. The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on Jan. 29 Gonzalez allegedly set a fire in an apartment complex at 200 Illinois 3, knowing there were others present.
Bail was set at $150,000.
Other felony charges filed Feb. 4 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:
• Mickey D. Collins, 53, of Bethalto, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of weapons, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Bethalto Police Department.
