The plea moved in Supreme Court challenging Karnataka High Court s order, which dismissed petitions against the ban on Hijab in educational institutions, has alleged step-motherly behaviour of state government authorities which has prevented students from practising their faith and resulted in an unwanted law and order situation.
The plea challenging Karnataka HC order upholding Hijab ban is filed in the Supreme Court by two Muslim students, Manan and Niba Naaz, through advocate Anas Tanwir.
A plea was Tuesday filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Karnataka High Court verdict which dismissed pleas seeking permission to wear Hijab inside the classroom, saying Hijab is not a part of the essential religious practice in Islamic faith.
