(File photo) MANILA - A slight increase in Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) is recorded starting mid-May while infections in other areas decreased, a health official said Tuesday. In an online media forum, Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted that Covid-19 cases in the NCR plus areas and the rest of Luzon also showed a slight increase. Data from the DOH Covid-19 tracker show that NCR's average Covid-19 cases for the week of May 5 to 11 is only 431. It went up to 522 cases for the following week - from May 12 to 18 - and went down to 477 cases for the week of May 19 to 25. "Ngunit, mapapansin na unti-unting bumababa ang mga kasong ito sa (However, there is a decrease seen in the) plus areas and the rest of Luzon. On the other hand, cases in Visayas and Mindanao were in plateau and remained low," she said. The NCR and other island groups have had less than 100 daily cases since early April. The country remains under low-r
