Jamaica and West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell is among the overseas players to make the ESPNcricinfo Lanka Premier League (LPL) team of the tournament.
The 32-year-old Russell scored 169 runs in what was the inaugural season. He had a strike rate of 194. Added to that, Russell took eight wickets and an economy rate of 8.92.
The Jamaican produced the most devastating and most memorable innings of the LPL, when he came in to open a rain-reduced five-over match. He hammered six fours and nine sixes in a 19-ball 65 not out to lead Colombo Kings to a record 96 from five overs against Galle Gladiators on November 29. Gladiators scored 62 in the chase to lose by 34 runs in Hambantota.
