Rivers United put up a good performance to beat Jigawa Golden Stars 2-0 to maintain their 100 per cent win record at home in one of the MatchDay 14 of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Desperate to get back to winning ways after three matchdays (two defeats and a draw), Rivers United were all over their opponents in the opening moments as they controlled the tempo of the game, creating chances but were unfortunate in the final third.

Port Harcourt, Feb. 9, 2021 Rivers United Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma, says his team’s 2-0 defeat of Nasarawa United FC on Monday is a “hard earned victory”.
Eguma said this during a post-match interview with newsmen at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Match Day 9 of the NPFL.
He described the visiting Nasarawa United as a good team.
He said: “You saw the way they played, may be they came to fight for their life.
“But unfortunately for them, we needed the points more than any other team.
“So, I thank God for the victory,” Eguma said.
