KABUL: Ten Afghan border guards have been killed by Taliban militants in an attack on their base in Kunduz province which left 4 more wounded, officials said Monday.
A Taliban attack in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province, ten border guards were killed and four others were wounded.
“The Taliban militants attacked a group of border guards in Staming village of Imam Sahib District on Sunday night, killing 10 border forces including the base commander, Davood Hakimi,” said Khalil Qarizada, a member of Kunduz Provincial Council. He said 4 border guards were injured in the ambush.
Residents said heavy fighting broke out midnight in Staming village as Taliban assailed a border security base and killed several guards.
