Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan was on Wednesday before Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa), offering a dim view of how Andre de Ruyter handled his very public exit from Eskom in February.
Former Eskom board chairperson Malegapuru Makgoba said that the former CEO, André de Ruyter, had the requisite authority to launch the the BLSA-funded investigation into corruption in the ailing power utility.
Answering questions in the National Assembly on Thursday, Ramaphosa said he could not act on rumours and innuendo against his executive, regarding allegations made by former Eskom CEO André de Ruyter.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will have to answer questions on the role of the minister of electricity in resolving the energy crisis and the progress in combating corruption at Eskom.
