Suspected cultists in Benin City, Edo State capital, killed a Benin-based cinematographer and presenter working with the Independent Television (ITV), Mr Hilary Odia on Christmas Eve at his residence located at Esigie Street in Oredo Local Government Area of the state. The suspected cultists also killed a vigilante commander identified as Osasu and two other persons in the area. The vigilante commander was reportedly ambushed and shot dead at Iyobosa area while the two other casualties were shot at Nekpen-Nekpen and Uwa streets respectively.

TWO persons were reportedly killed in a renewed cult clash between two cult groups in Benin, Edo State.
It was gathered that the rivalry between the cult groups began on Saturday following the killing of one Ogbomo by rival group.
Ogbomo was said to have been killed by a four-man gang at about 4pm along Esigie Street, 3rd Circular Road, Benin on Saturday.
It was learnt that the rival group, angered by the killing of Ogbomo, on Monday afternoon, retaliated with the killing of a commercial bus driver along 3rd Circular road by Esigie junction.

The body of an unidentified man was found in the landing gear compartment of a plane that arrived in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport from Lagos, Nigeria on Monday.
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, in a tweet via its Twitter account said the body was discovered by the airport technical staff.
It also said an investigation into the man’s identity and cause of death after he was discovered inside a wheel arch have begun.
“We are investigating the discovery of a body in the landing gear of an airplane that arrived from Lagos, Nigeria.
“ The victim is a stowaway and was killed by the low temperatures during the flight.

Tribune Online gathered that what triggered the latest clash was the last Saturday killing of one Ogbomo, by a rival group.
The four-man gang who carried out the execution of Ogbomo were said to have accosted him at about 4pm along Esigie Street, 3rd East Circular Road, Benin.
His cult group members, it was further gathered, carried out a reprisal on Monday afternoon by killing a commercial bus driver, believed to be a member of the group which killed Ogbomo, also along 3rd East Circular Road by Esigie junction.
