Whilst the UK allowed up to 3 households to mix between 23rd and 27th of December to allow some sort of normality over Christmas, the discovery of a new variant of Covid-19 meant the decision was reverted as swiftly as it was proposed. Cases of Covid-19 continued to rise into 2021 culminating in a 3rd national lockdown just a week into the new year.
