A paper mill in Michigan's Upper Peninsula has agreed to pay nearly $250,000 to settle an investigation of a fish kill in the Escanaba River, state regulators said.
ESCANABA, MI A pedestrian was hit by a car in Escanaba on Saturday.
Escanaba Public Safety officers say it happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of 3rd Avenue North and Stephenson Avenue. A woman had the right of way in the crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle. The driver said he didn’t see the pedestrian.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to OSF St. Francis for treatment.
The driver was found to be at fault in the accident and ticketed.
