Police have opened a homicide investigation after a 17-year-old was fatally shot Monday.
Montgomery police Cpl. Ernestina McGriff said police were called to the 4200 block of Delmar Drive at about 3 p.m. in reference to a shooting.
McGriff said the victim, Leiah Holmes, was taken from the scene in critical condition to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injury.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
