PANAMA CITY Since reopening in October on the second anniversary of Hurricane Michael, Uncle Ernie s Bayfront Bar & Grill has remained a force to be reckoned with in the Historic St. Andrews community. Putting this back together was a monumental task, admitted Sean Lyon, who owns the restaurant with his cousin, Erin Pigneri.
Being by the water, the restaurant at 1151 Bayview Ave. had suffered a ton of damage, Lyon said.
But on the first weekend in February, when Mardi Gras food and drink specials with a Cajun flair reigned, Uncle Ernie s saw numbers closer to those pre-hurricane.
All of fans familiar coastal favorites, from Grouper Imperial to Key Lime Pie, that made Uncle Ernie s a destination for locals and tourists are still on the menu year-round served with a view of St. Andrew Bay.
