A judge Monday rejected a defense bid to have a first-degree murder conviction reduced to second-degree murder or voluntary manslaughter for the man who fatally shot rapper Nipsey Hussle.
A defense attorney for the man convicted of gunning down rapper Nipsey Hussle in front of the musician's South Los Angeles clothing store said Thursday he plans to ask a judge to reduce his client's conviction from first-degree murder to voluntary manslaughter.
Sentencing for the man convicted of murdering Grammy-winning rapper Nipsey Hussle in a 2019 shooting in South Los Angeles has been postponed to Dec. 19.
Takeoff, a member of the influential rap group Migos, was shot and killed at a party held at a Houston bowling alley early on Tuesday. Takeoff, 28, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was found dead at the scene at about 2.40am, police said. Two others, a male and female in their 20s, were also shot but were expected.
Police say they have few leads in the investigation following the fatal shooting of rapper Takeoff in downtown Houston and are calling for help to find at least two shooters.
