Thursday Flakes: GameStop, Sandwiches, and Fake Coronavirus Tests Share this story Staff photo by Ben McCanna/Portland Portland Press Herald via Getty Images Sandwiches have been around for a while.in fact since the 1st Century BC. It was in historical records that Hillel the Elder gathered chopped nuts, apples, spices and better herbs and placed them between two pieces of matzoh (unleavened bread). I have had this during Passover and I will admit it’s not as bad as it seems. The word ‘sandwich’ first appeared in 1762 written in the journal of English author Edward Gibbons in which he was likely writing about the habits of John Matagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. Matagu was known for being quite the gambler who often did so for extended periods of time without leaving the table. In order to counter this issue, he would order meat between two pieces of bread to satisfy his hunger. This meal gained popularity in London and quickly became known as a sandwich.

Thousands of climbers reach the peak of Mount Everest each year but less than 400 people have reached the top of K2 in recorded history.none of them during the winter until last weekend. Frosted Flakes: A Year That Changed Everything

Frosted Flakes: A Year That Changed Everything Share this story Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto via Getty Images Greetings from Columbus, Ohio where I will be ringing in the New Year with my brother and parents while watching movies, snacking on sweets and playing board games. Has anyone else played Codenames? Last week’s trip to Columbus was quite the adventure so I figured I would share it with you here. My parents and I were supposed to leave Canada on a very early Tuesday morning flight to Columbus via Phoenix. However, Monday afternoon it began to snow. We knew a snowstorm was coming so my Mom thought it would be better to drive up to Calgary on Monday evening and spend a night at an airport hotel before the flight. We left the house at 6:00 pm and the snow was continuing to come down more and more as the drive continued and the wind continued to swirl and swirl.
