New TEK courses will be offered utilizing the UKC prefix during the Spring 2024 semester and will satisfy UK Core requirements. Courses focus on topics such as climate change, misinformation, creative spaces and well-being. All undergraduate students are encouraged to enroll in the new courses.
New courses created as part of the TEK Faculty Fellows program will engage faculty in team-teaching across disciplinary boundaries with a focus on a critical issue or problem alongside workforce experts and community partners. Revised courses will emphasize the skills that transdisciplinary work requires, including collaboration and communication among stakeholders with different perspectives and lived experiences.
The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) launched the Teaching Innovation Institute in 2020 as an incubator for cutting-edge instructional techniques and a transdisciplinary space for faculty to build community, engage with shared challenges and opportunities and experiment with pedagogical approaches. Two faculty cohorts have completed the program with a third on the way for the next academic year.
