Red Wing Roots festival tickets on sale now, projected to sell out quick

View Comments MOUNT SOLON After a year hiatus due to COVID, Red Wing Roots music festival is back and set to sell out quick, according to festival organizers.  We are thrilled to be coming together after such a long, difficult time, Michael Weaver co-founder of the festival, said. We anticipate a lot of emotion. For sure, it will be a year unlike any other. The festival is the brainchild of the local band The Steel Wheels and is focused on finger picking, bluegrass, American roots music. It is also a way to bring the band back to the area, their home, each summer. It started in 2013.

Asheville comes alive with live music in June

The Asheville-based group released its third record, “Lost My Sight,” last July but weren’t able to tour behind the new music. Krisko said the bulk of the new setlist will be from the new album but the group will also play new covers.  She pushed to have the band’s show on Sunday. “I wanted a Sunday Funday,” she said. “I’ve missed it. I felt like it was cooler than a Friday night. I wanted that beautiful sunset show.”   The group hasn’t seen each other during the pandemic, as members live up and down the East Coast.
