MetroWest and Boston therapy nonprofit adapts amidst pandemic

Milagros Pena was worried about her 13-year-old niece, Camila.  Early last year, Camila was going through some mental health struggles. She was dealing with some problems that were weighing on her.  When the pandemic started and lockdowns commenced, things got worse, Pena said.  “She isolated herself, Pena said of Camilia. She was always in her room. She didn’t want to eat with us at the table.   Not knowing how to get her niece out of her funk, Pena turned to Doc Wayne Youth Services, a nonprofit based in Boston that combines therapy with sports. Doc Wayne s clientele includes students in Framingham, Sudbury, Ashland and other MetroWest communities.
