The younger Welton s remembrance ceremony started at 11:15 a.m. The Star-Banner was in attendance.
The ceremony was held on a grassy, wooded, three-acre property just yards from East State Road 40 in Silver Springs. The 100 or so people there stood beneath a huge tree. Welton continuously wiped his eyes with a T-shirt as Erin Harvell spoke about Jeremy Welton. He was a wonderful man who touched many lives, Harvell told the people. The event remembering Welton was organized by Harvell, who was one of Welton s co-workers at the Chewy distribution center in Ocala; Heather Sweet; and Tim and Krista Sanders.
Another speaker, Amy Gall, another one of Jeremy Welton s work colleagues, told the audience that her friend had a huge heart. She said he was kind and respectful to everyone. Gall called him a unifier who loves telling jokes.
