The federal governmentâs $179 billion sovereign wealth fund will have a new board member, with businesswoman Patricia Cross being appointed.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg on Tuesday announced the appointment of Mrs Cross to the Future Fund board of guardians for the next five years.
Mr Frydenberg said Mrs Cross had extensive experience in corporate governance, investing and managing financial assets.
She is currently chairman of the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation and is a director of Macquarie Group, insurer Aviva and the National Australia Bank.
Mrs Cross previously served on the boards of Qantas and Wesfarmers, and earlier in her career she was a business banker at NAB.
