Event Summary The Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss a particular book. January s book is A Gentleman in Moscow by Arthur Towles.
The book tells the story of Count Alexander Rostov, who is sentenced to live out the rest of his life on house arrest in the Metropol hotel, following his conviction by a Bolshevik tribunal. He was convicted of being an unrepentant aristocrat and is stripped of his wealth by the new Bolshevik regime.

At a garden party on a sunny afternoon, Alice is surprised to see her parents’ friend Lewis Carroll transform into a white rabbit. When she follows him down a rabbit hole events become curiouser and curiouser… As Alice journeys through Wonderland, she encounters countless strange creatures. She’s swept off her feet by the charming Knave of Hearts, who’s on the run for stealing the tarts. Confusion piles upon confusion. Then Alice wakes with a start. Was it all a daydream?

Entry includes mulled wine and mince pies. Matinee also 2pm.
