Out Friday, Sept. 22 is Staind's Confessions of the Fallen, the first new album from the band in 12 years. The 10-song set was produced by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Panic! at the Disco, Black Veil Bridges) and started during the pandemic, with frontman Aaron Lewis building songs from ideas sent by guitarist Mike Mushok. Lewis tells us that, burned out from the dark confessionalism of Staind's previous songs, he felt a need to put the band aside while he focused on his solo career as a country artist but gradually embraced the idea of making new music with the band: "I don't know if there was ever a right or a wrong time, really. It just, it helped, uh, it helped expose the right time, I guess, just in its nature way of coming together and becoming an album." :24 (OC: becoming an album) "Confessions of the Fallen" was preceded by the singles "Lowest in Me," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and "Here and Now."
