The secret to a great alcohol-free cocktail is simple, says Erik Lorincz, former head bartender of supreme cocktail haunt The American Bar at The Savoy: uncompromising ingredients blended for a perfectly-balanced flavour.
“If I’m not drinking alcohol, I don’t want something generic and overly sweet,” explains the drinks maestro, who since 2019 has headed up his own cult venue, Kwãnt in Mayfair. “I want an alcohol free drink that’s crafted as expertly as an alcoholic drink is.” This means striking the perfect balance of flavours: blending sweet with savoury, and sour with earthy.
