The Erie School District is holding special events on Wednesday to focus on an issue that became notable during the pandemic kindergarten enrollment.
The district is holding kindergarten and pre-K open houses at its 10 elementary schools and registration events at the schools and five community centers from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Registration will be for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students for 2021-22. Students enrolling at any site can also sign up for summer learning programs that the school district will offer before the start of the academic year in response to the pandemic.
All new students who enroll at the events will also receive an early childhood backpack while supplies last, the district said in a statement. District staff will be present to help families register.
