CLEVELAND, Ohio The Red Line Greenway, the city’s newest off-road, multipurpose trail, edges next to Interstate 90 west of downtown and squeezes past rail lines in some of the most tortured and cut-up territory in Northeast Ohio. And yet, despite the decades of sweat it took to make it a reality, the Red Line Greenway offers a smooth and easy ride past sculpted embankments and freshly planted trees along the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s rapid transit Red Line.

(Gus Chan / The Plain Dealer) The Plain Dealer WASHINGTON, D.C. - Earmarks are back, and Northeast Ohio members of Congress want to use them to fund everything from local sewer improvements to police communication centers to a park. Donnie s Tavern in Zoar boasts sophisticated menu

Alison Matas Last summer, I took a spontaneous trip to Historic Zoar Village.  A detour off the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail led to the village’s downtown, where I explored antique shops, a German-style bakery with a walk-up window and the beautiful Zoar Garden. I remember peeking through the window of Donnie’s Tavern  a sports bar on the main drag through the historic village  and thinking it would be a fun place to eat, just because of the location.  It took me six months, but I finally went back for dinner at Donnie’s. I expected run-of-the-mill bar food and was pleasantly surprised at how sophisticated (and delicious) the menu was. I can’t recommend a visit to Zoar and a meal at Donnie’s Tavern enough.

Dover hiking and biking path to be completed in 2021

Service Director Dave Douglas said K.E. McCartney & Associates was one of four companies considered for the work.  McCartney was chosen because it has worked with the city before and its employees are familiar with working on projects that are funded by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Douglas said ODOT projects often involve a great deal of paperwork. ODOT is funding 95% of the project. On Friday, the city s board of control will award a contract for construction of the path, which will run from Tuscarawas Avenue along the river to the corporation limit.  The low bid of $525,329 was from Shelley Co. of Columbus. It covers construction of the path and lighting.
