Easton news briefs NoteAble Blend to create second virtual chorus The NoteAble Blend chorus based in South Easton recently created a virtual chorus video in which each participant recorded her part and submitted it to an audio technician to compile the individual parts into a four-part recording.  The first recording was a song called “Sound Celebration” and can be heard at http://noteableblend.org. NoteAble is now planning a second virtual chorus and is inviting all women who like to sing to join in the process. The selected song is “With A Little Help From My Friends,” and participants will be able to learn the song by attending three Zoom rehearsals Feb. 17, Feb. 24 and March 3. Learning tracks by part will be provided and there is no cost to participate.

The second session of the three-part series will take place on Feb. 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will teach participants how to dance Bachata, which originated in the Dominican Republic. The classes are free and open to all skill levels, but participants must register in advance at www.dancecaliente.us. The Salem-based Lappin Foundation is holding a virtual live screening on Feb. 8 of the film “Space Torah,” about the copy of the sacred text that astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman brought with him aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia. North Easton Savings Bank makes second food pantry donation of $30K Community Content North Easton Savings Bank recently donated $30,000 across several food pantries located in communities the bank serves throughout southeastern Massachusetts. This donation followed an earlier contribution of $30,000 to the same food pantries, which was made in the spring during the initial height of the pandemic. Typically, North Easton Savings Bank gives a total of $30,000 in support of community food pantries over the course of one year, but recognizing the importance of continuing to support local food pantries during this time, the bank made the decision to double its annual commitment to $60,000.
