Brett Favre’s lawyers are again asking a Mississippi judge to dismiss the retired NFL quarterback from a lawsuit that demands repayment of millions of dollars of welfare money. Lawyer Eric D. Herschmann says in court papers Friday that the Mississippi Department of Human Services sued Favre to deflect from its own wrongdoing. The department's lawsuit says welfare money was improperly spent on projects Favre supported, including a university volleyball arena. The filing Friday came a day after Favre filed defamation lawsuits against the Mississippi auditor and sportscasters Pat McAfee and Shannon Sharpe. McAfee on Friday said Favre's lawyers made “hilarious” demands, including that he erase videos of him talking about Favre.
