It’s been a while, but
The Age Book of the Year is on the way back. It will be presented on Friday, September 3 – the opening night of the Melbourne Writers Festival, of which the newspaper is a media partner.
The previous iteration of the award was last seen in 2012, when Tasmanian historian James Boyce won the overall prize for
1835: The Founding of Melbourne and the Conquest of Australia, while Gillian Mears won the fiction prize for
