Great service at Blood Bank

THE EDITOR: It was with a certain amount of trepidation, in this covid19 season, that I went to the Blood Bank at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Friday.
However, my fears were assuaged by the very courteous and professional attitude of the staff.
Given the tremendous stress that our healthcare professionals are currently under, it was great to interact with people, from the front desk receptionist to the nurses, who all displayed a high level of competence and had a wonderful sense of humour.
Thank you for the work that you and all your colleagues do, and please stay safe. God bless.

LYNETTE Granny Luces was fondly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren during the funeral service of the beloved long-distance runner at the Mt D Or Seventh Adventist Church, on Thursday.
Luces, an avid long-distance TT runner, was 93. Luces, who suffered a stroke in October, died at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on February 18.
Luces is popularly known for participating and completing long-distance races throughout TT and the world. Luces got involved in the sport in her mid-fifties, making her marathon debut in 1984. Luces received the Hummingbird Medal Gold in 2013.

LYNETTE GRANNY Luces was remembered as the female Goliath and a legend by former colleague and friend Curtis Cox during the funeral of the beloved long-distance runner at the Mt D Or Seventh Adventist Church on Thursday.
Luces, an avid long-distance runner, was 93. She had a stroke in October, and died at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on February 18.

The mother of a psychiatric nurse who died on Monday is denying that his death was linked to his previous covid19 infection.
Shazard Mohammed, 40, died at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Monday. Hours after his death, reports on Facebook suggested he died after three months of experiencing complications from covid19.
But on Tuesday, Mohammed’s mother Meera Mohammed said after her son contracted the virus last October, he was cleared and discharged. She said he then had a successful surgical operation and also recovered completely. But he experienced some complications later on, was admitted to hospital and died.
