KEIGHLEY and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore has called on Bradford Council to advertise the fact that they are offering free on-street parking for up to an hour in Ilkley town centre. Mr Moore has been advised free on-street parking has been extended from half an hour to one hour however, this is not being advertised to residents who he says may be avoiding come into Ilkley to shop locally because of parking charges or may only stay for half an hour. Mr Moore has been told that to take advantage of the extension the driver would need to press the green button to obtain the free ticket from the pay and display machine, which is currently programmed for 30 minutes and display this in their vehicle. The parking warden would then give the driver an extra 30 minutes from the expiry time of this ticket.
