The president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association resigned from that role Tuesday after being charged with patronizing a prostitute who police accused of trying to extort him.
David Eric Schwager, 58, of Kingston was also put on leave from his job as an assistant solicitor in Luzerne County. His attorney, Frank Nocito, declined comment.

Five Charged in Sheldon Warrant Service

Sheldon, IA (KICD)– Five people have been charged following a Thursday morning warrant service in Sheldon.
Police Chief Scott Burtch tells us two search warrants were executed simultaneously at 817 and 903 4th Street, which led to Shawn Rooney, Jason Rutzen, Ryan Monaghan, Debra Schuknecht, and Eric Schwager being taken into custody.
All five parties were charged with gathering where controlled substances are used and possession of drug paraphernalia, with Rooney, Rutzen, Monaghan, and Schuknecht also being charged for possessing methamphetamine. Rooney was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and Rutzen with obstructing prosecution.
