One week after the City of Emporia confirmed there was “sufficient support” to remove Quaker Park from the city’s surplus real property list, city commissioners made good on the promise.
Now that the hard work of collecting signatures is done, and there’s nothing to do but (im)patiently wait for all of those scribbled names to be scrutinized and tallied -
Around 200 signatures were collected over the weekend after community members banded together to host a barbeque and family day to bring more attention to efforts to save Quaker Park.
