(WKBW) Two Eden, New York, police officers jumped into action on Tuesday morning to rescue a choking puppy. The department says a resident walked into the police station just before 7 a.m. with the dog, looking for help. Officers learned the dog had an object stuck in its throat and was having difficulty breathing. Officers Eric Milks and Brian Burgstahler were able to clear the object from the puppy s throat using the Heimlich Maneuver and back blows.

Two New York cops helped saved a choking puppy that is now being called Lucky. The owner of the puppy walked into the Eden Police station asking for help with his puppy. The dog was having trouble breathing because there was something stuck in his throat. Officers Eric Milks and Brian Burgstahler performed the Heimlich maneuver on the puppy and were able to free the object, according to Eden Police. They rushed the pooch to the vet to get checked out and he is now doing well. The puppy didn t have a name, so Officers Milks and Brugstahler started calling him Lucky. It s unclear whether or not the owner kept the new name, but it only seem appropriate. Either Lucky or named after one of the officers who saved his life.

Eden Police officers credited with saving puppy from choking

Two Town of Eden Police officers are being credited with saving a puppy from choking. According to a post on the department s Facebook page, a town resident walked into the station just before 7am looking for help with his puppy that was having trouble breathing.  It was believed there was an object stuck in the puppy s throat. Officers Eric Milks and Brian Burgstahler performed the Heimlich maneuver, as well as back blows to dislodge the item from the puppy s airway.
